ABOUT US
KNOW YOUR WORTH is a creative and cultural industry support and mentorship programme for young under represented creatives. This programme has been developed to run alongside vocational creative courses, current employment or unemployment providing a platform for learning new skills required for further study or employment in the creative, cultural or digital performative sectors

With over two decades working in creative education we have noticed a huge decline in the official hours our young creatives are assigned to study and achieve their vocational qualification. Currently, each student has only 11hrs per week equivalent to only 2 days of college a week per course. Not surprisingly, this leaves our young creatives short changed in terms of valuable contact time with tutors which can often impact their journey, learning experience and knowledge required to progress to higher education. As you may be aware, the arts, theatre and performance requires an incredible amount of time to produce which rarely fits into the given contact hours by each college. So we developed Know Your Worth as a platform where we can continue to offer, that learning, knowledge, experience and often confidence outside of curriculum in a relaxed format. This can occur on site at college or in an industry venue.
WHO ARE WE?
We are practitioners and educators within the creative arts and have a combination of 20 years of experience in guiding and facilitating under represented young people in further education with skills and aspirations to train at drama school and university as well as three decades working as practitioners. Over this time, we have sent our artists, young actors, stage managers, lighting designers and set designers into institutions that have not fully understood their journeys. Many of our young creatives face challenges that can stop them from progressing into higher education and the industry. We have worked with institutions and young under represented creatives collectively and have developed ways to navigate and bridge the gap. With their goal in terms of equal representation both on and off stage, we have developed a support programme which levels the playing field and galvanises the term Know Your Worth.
